A Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) educator will lead a private tour of the current exhibition, Smoke & Mirrors. The exhibit includes the work of eight artists using reflective materials and creative techniques to explore optical illusions and distort reality. This six-part series studies the life and death of King Richard II, a tale of power and plotting, and is the first of Shakespeare’s four historical plays depicting the struggle between Richard II and his cousin Henry Bolingbroke. Groundworks Art Lab Pottery Classes
Groundworks Art Lab Boulder offers monthly hand building classes. Experimental Techniques in Transparent and Opaque Watercolor
Learn a variety of experimental techniques using transparent and opaque watercolor, including pen and ink techniques, mono-printing, and using sand and dyes, saran wrap, gauze and collage. Participants can work in both types of watercolors to develop a personal style using images or abstractions. This class is designed for all levels of experience.

In January, Pat will share stories ranging from dinosaur digging in Montana, a cache of stone tools found in a Boulder backyard, now on display at the CU museum, the climbing of Kilimanjaro in the “birthplace of mankind”, tales of life and death in a Greek theater, and the inspiring contributions of a friend named Verlie who faced a very tough life. Create unique fused glass art using pre-cut bases and colorful dichroic glass embellishments. Dichroic refers to objects that show two different colors depending on angle or lighting. Each participant will be guided to create a one-of-a-kind small (~3-inch) dichroic glass dish.
