Boulder Police Locate Male Who Left the State After Arrest
BOULDER, Colo. – Thanks to intensive investigative work, Boulder Police detectives this past week located and coordinated the arrest of a man who left the state after being released on bond for charges of sexual assault on a child.
BPD Special Enforcement Unit detectives located Ian C. Morrison, 37, of Boulder, in Tillamook, Oregon, and coordinated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office to safety find and take him into custody. Morrison was in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest. The investigation began last year after Morrison failed to show up for a court appearance. He has been charged with failing to appear on the original charges along with felony bond violation and violation of the protection order. He is currently in custody at the Tillamook County Jail.
Officers initially arrested Morrison in January 2021, on charges of sexual assault, sexual assault on a child, enticement of a child and false imprisonment stemming from incidents that occurred in 2020. The ongoing investigation also uncovered that Morrison was in possession of sexually explicit material of children.
As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.
