All are invited to join your first responders for the annual National Night Out on August 3! National Night Out (NNO) 2021 is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 3, and we invite all of Boulder's neighborhoods to take part and host a gathering in your neighborhood.
NNO is an annual event that helps to build camaraderie and allows for meaningful conversations in a casual setting while bringing back a true sense of community. Even better, it provides a time to bring together police and neighbors under positive circumstances.
“National Night Out is a great opportunity for our community to get to know their neighbors and their neighborhood officers,” Chief Maris Herold said. “Many times, our community members only meet law enforcement when they’re a victim of a crime, but during this event, we’re able to talk with our community members, hear their public safety questions and really get to know them, which is one of the best parts of our job.”
Please register your NNO event on our website so we can stop by! In addition to a visit from members of the police and fire departments, City Council members will stop by for a visit if you wish. All registered events will be entered into a drawing to use Boulder’s Neighborhood Block Party Trailer, which offers a variety of games and other items to make the gathering a hit.
Registration is open now through July 26.
National Night Out started in 1984 and has since swept across the nation. It is an annual event in all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canada and military bases worldwide, involving more than 15,000 communities and 37 million volunteers, residents and civil servants.
