Your input needed: City of Boulder to host public webinar for 2024 Community Wildfire Protection Plan update
On Thursday, Nov. 2 from 5 to 6 p.m., the City of Boulder invites you to join the conversation about the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP), a plan which will heighten the safety and resilience of the Boulder community and critical infrastructure. In a virtual public meeting the city will discuss the 2024 CWPP update, including an opportunity to hear from city staff and experts and share your input during the webinar to inform the CWPP.
The CWPP proactively identifies wildfire risks in the wildland-urban interface, which refers to the area where wildland fuels intersect with the places people live and work in Boulder. The CWPP, when complete, will serve as a guiding document that will assist the city and Boulder residents in marking informed decisions with respect to wildfire preparation and mitigation.
“We encourage the community to attend this important webinar and give their input about how the city should plan, fund, and implement wildfire risk mitigation efforts. This is an important topic to help prepare our city for wildfires. This work impacts everyone who lives, works or recreates in Boulder,” said Brian Oliver, Wildland Division Chief at Boulder Fire-Rescue.
The webinar on Nov. 2 will begin at 5 p.m. with a short presentation by a panel of experts. The remainder of the meeting is dedicated to answering questions and hearing input from the Boulder community. If you cannot join the live webinar, you can find links to the community survey and a pre-recorded webinar related to CWPP below:
