Elesha Johnson

City Clerk

Elesha Johnson is currently serving as the City of Boulder City Clerk. Elesha moved to Colorado in 2013 after accepting a position with Boulder as the first full-time Records Manager. In that role, she has established a Records Management Program for the city that includes obtaining approval to utilize the Colorado State Municipal Retention Schedule and the development and maintenance of the “Records Archive” located on the city’s website. Her developed and detailed procedure for processing of Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests has allowed us to maintain the goal of transparency in government while following all applicable laws and guidelines. Elesha’s professional experience spans Federal and local government, including working for the Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, and the Department of Justice. Her 20+ years of work history in local government includes work for the City of Camden and the Township of Parssipany – Troy Hills in New Jersey where she held the titles of Deputy Municipal Clerk and Township Clerk. She has also served as a Co-Adjunct Faculty Member of Rutgers, The New Jersey State University teaching municipal services-based courses.
