Reserve Sports Fields for Practices, Events, Games and Tournaments

Boulder Parks and Recreation maintains and manages four sports complexes and 14 recreational (satellite) fields.

Recreational Fields

Recreational (satellite) fields are available for practices, games and/or special events. No supervisor is required. These fields are mowed and dragged weekly. Park Shelters are not reserved with the field. If in a park where the Park Shelter is under reservations from the 1st Friday in May to Labor Day, please contact moorek@bouldercolorado.gov to inquire about reservation of the park shelter: Foothills Community Park, Harlow Platts Park, North Boulder Park, and Martin park.

Rentals have a two-hour minimum, per date and location. Please submit a separate form for each location and allow two weeks for the approval process.

Sports complexes are locked facilities that are for games, special events, and tournaments.

Outdoor Sport Fields & Tournament Rentals

The following terms and conditions will be applied to each rental agreement:

  • Rentals will be charged for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • A full deposit is due once the contract has been signed. Deposit may be used for any damage incurred during the rental period. Damages occurring because of your players, coaches, and spectators will be billed directly to the renter. The remaining rental balance is due at completion of the rental.
  • Fields will not be rented to any organization whose use of the fields presents a conflict of interest.
  • Liability insurance of $2,000,000 naming the City of Boulder as additionally insured is required for special events, camps, and tournaments.
  • Dogs and glass bottles are not allowed at the athletic complexes.
  • The number of supervisors, field preparation, lights, trash removal, and scheduled maintenance, etc. will be determined by the Sports staff based on the event.
  • Portable toilet fees will be at cost at gated facilities only. All satellite rentals are responsible for coordinating their own portable toilets.
  • Field playability will be determined by the City of Boulder within the gated facilities. It is your responsibility to contact the Sports office at 303-413-7200 Option #3; then option #1
  • Field playability will be determined by the renter on Satellite fields. If snow is present, fields will be closed.

This fee schedule provides detail in support of the BPR Fee Policy for the department’s facilities and operations. The Definitions found in the Fee Policy apply throughout this document and are incorporated by reference.

Subsidy Levels

To advance equity by lowering barriers and supporting access based on the priorities identified in the 2022 BPR Plan, subsidy is provided to programs that support low-income residents, people with disabilities, older adults and youth.

Other Facility Use and Services

Any other Boulder Parks and Recreation facility or service not listed specifically in this fee schedule or elsewhere shall be available at the discretion of the Parks and Recreation Department Director. The Director or their designee will determine the applicable fees and necessary requirements.

Staffing

Additional fees may be charged for events, rentals, and reservations that require staff above and beyond those that are regularly scheduled to work. An additional premium applies for staffing that must take place outside of regular operational hours, recognizing it requires a shift in regular scheduling and management support to administer.

Cost Multipliers:

Daily rate is equivalent to 7.5 hours booked.

Multi Day/Tournament rate is equivalent to 6 hours booked over multiple days.
