RTD's proposed changes would result in a 20% reduction in bus service in Boulder compared to before the pandemic.
Update: RTD has extended the public comment period for its proposed changes through March 9.
As part of its Reimagine RTD process, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) is seeking public feedback on proposed bus service changes included in its draft System Optimization Plan (SOP). The SOP is designed to improve transit service performance over the next five years throughout the region and address changing transit demand due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Due to RTD’s financial outlook, the SOP reflects an estimated 20% reduction in service levels in Boulder compared to before the pandemic. The SOP recommends restoring service for some routes, consolidating or discontinuing others, and expanding certain routes to improve service coverage.
