This year, as we reflect on the interconnectedness of all living beings and the delicate balance of our planet's ecosystems, we invite you to join us in honoring our home. From educational workshops to outdoor adventures, our community’s Earth Day celebrations offer many opportunities for individuals of all ages to connect with nature, learn about environmental conservation, and take meaningful steps toward a greener, more sustainable future.

Common Ground Film Screening

Date: Sunday, April 21, 2024
Time: Doors Open at 4:30 pm
Location: Etown Hall, 1535 Spruce St, Boulder, CO 80302

Join us for a free screening of the new film "Common Ground," which explores the intersection of agriculture, sustainability and community resilience. The event will take place on Sunday, April 21. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with the screening commencing at 5 p.m. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear from local regenerative farmers, delving into the transformative potential of regenerative agricultural practices in combating climate change. Climate Initiatives Community Conversations: Nature-Based Climate Solutions

Date: Wednesday, April 24
Time: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Growing Gardens, 1630 Hawthorn Ave, Boulder, CO 80304

The City of Boulder’s climate team will host a community conversation at Growing Gardens to discuss nature-based climate solutions. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the principles behind nature-based climate solutions including actions aimed at supporting our ecosystems and communities. These include the importance of fostering biodiversity, enhancing soil health, growing our urban canopy, and connecting as a community. This event will provide valuable insights into the city's climate work and its impact, with presentations by city staff followed by opportunities for public participation, feedback, and Q&A. This is a wonderful chance for dialogue and community-building.

Light refreshments will be provided. Registration encouraged.

Every Day is Earth Day: A Biodiversity Hike

From vast prairies to rugged peaks and everything in between, Boulder is home to an amazing array of life. Celebrate Earth Day with a diverse and multicultural community, along with naturalists from Open Space and Mountain Parks.

Location: Meadows Branch Library, 4800 Baseline Rd.

The Meadows Branch library is offering an in-person Earth Day Storytime with books, songs and crafts that teaches children the importance of treating the earth with kindness.

Resource Central Waterwise Yard Seminars: Earth Day—Feed the Pollinators, Feed the Earth

Learn about what pollinators need to thrive and how you can provide that in your space, just in time for Earth Day!

Earth Week Tree Plantings

Take action for Earth Week and join Drylands Agroecology Research for their annual community tree plantings! Local food and beverages will be provided all day, with live music at 1 p.m!

Tree Seedling Giveaway!

Date: Saturday, April 27, 2024
Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first come, first "treed" basis)
Location: McGuckin's, West Entrance, 2525 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, CO

The PLAY Boulder Foundation, Cool Boulder and the city’s forestry team will host their annual tree seedling giveaway event at McGuckin's. This is a fantastic opportunity for community members to get FREE trees and contribute to our collective efforts of growing the urban canopy!

Pollinator Advocate Training

The Pollinator Advocate Program is a unique shared educational experience with broad ecological, historical, and social perspectives that recognizes and celebrates the inseparable connection between ecosystems and people. You begin your journey to become a Pollinator Advocate (PA) by participating in this FREE immersive training program that is designed to enhance your knowledge about how to build safe and healthy spaces where pollinators can thrive. After becoming certified as a Pollinator Advocate, you will be seen as a leader and trusted ambassador for pollinators across all of our communities.
