Trailhead Description

Foothills Trail heads both north and south from the Four Mile Creek Trailhead. Heading north across Lee Hill, the Foothills Trail connects to the Hogback Ridge Trail. Heading south from the trailhead on Foothills Trail leads to the Wonderland Lake area and passes by the Old Kiln Trail.

The trailhead is open from 5 am to 11 pm daily.

Transportation

Turn west from Broadway on Lee Hill, the trailhead is on the left 0.3 mile west of Broadway on Lee Hill.

Bus Connections

Both the SKIP and 204 have stops at Broadway and Lee Hill. Walk or bike 0.3 mile west on Lee Hill to the trailhead.

The trailhead has 36 standard parking spaces and 4 ADA spaces.

Bike Regulations

Bicycles are allowed on the Foothills Trail. Bicycles may be ridden only on those trails that are posted with the international bicycle symbol.

E-Bikes

Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are allowed on the Foothills South and Wonderland Lake Trails. Learn more in the Guide to Electric Bikes on Open Space.

Dog Regulations

Four Mile Creek Area Dog Regulations Map

Learn about bringing your dog to OSMP. Dogs must be on a hand-held leash at all times unless they meet the voice and sight control standard and display a City of Boulder Voice and Sight tag. Dog excrement removal is required by law. A dog station is available to aid in the collection of dog excrement.

Dogs are not allowed on the Hogback Ridge Trail.

Horse Regulations

Allowed on most trails. Off-trail riding is discouraged to protect rare plants and wildlife habitat. Learn more about riding your horse on OSMP.

Wildlife

Mountain lions are frequently sighted in this area. Coyotes, mule deer, rattlesnakes and raptors are also commonly sighted.
