Parks and Recreation Master Plan Update virtual workshop

The Boulder Parks and Recreation Department (BPR) has been asking what you want from parks and recreation in our community. We’ve been listening and want to share some ideas with the community to make sure we’re on track as we develop our next Master Plan.

This Master Plan Update will guide the department’s investments and operations for the next five to seven years. The three overarching ideas of “restore,” “connect,” and “sustain” in this strategic plan are applicable for our community now and into the future.

Before the update is finalized, we’re asking community members for feedback. BPR needs the community to help us identify the most important work so we can focus our resources.

There are two ways to give your feedback:

  • Participate in an on-demand, virtual public workshop anytime between Wednesday, Jan. 19, and Monday. Feb 7, on BPRMasterPlan.org, or
  • Participate in a staff-hosted, virtual public workshop, which will have the same information and activities, on Thursday, Feb. 3, 5:30-7 p.m. The link to the virtual workshop will be posted on bouldercolorado.gov/projects/parks-and-recreation-master-plan-update.

"These virtual engagements are a chance to check in with the community and make sure that our decisions and investments for the next five to seven years are guided by community input," said Parks and Recreation Department Director Ali Rhodes. "These feedback opportunities are invaluable ways for our community to share their parks and recreation thoughts with us. Thank you so much for giving us your ideas and opinions."

Through research and engagement with staff, stakeholders and the community, draft goals and initiatives have been developed that detail the work to be done and how it will be accomplished. Key themes of the Master Plan Update form the foundation of those goals and initiatives and can be found at bouldercolorado.gov/projects/parks-and-recreation-master-plan-update, along with many other documents related to the project.
